Reisegold® tabs for motion sickness are a means of preventing and treating travel complaints that can occur when traveling by various means of transport such as car, plane, ship, train or bus.The active ingredient dimenhydrinate stabilizes the center of balance and reduces the urge to vomit, thereby preventing dizziness and nausea.The effect begins just 15 to 30 minutes after taking it and lasts around 3 to 6 hours.The tablets can be divided so that the dosage can be adjusted individually, even for shorter travel times.Reisegold® tabs is approved for children aged 6 and over.

Mode of action

Reisegold® tabs against motion sickness stabilize the center of balance and dampen the urge to vomit.The active ingredient dimenhydrinate blocks receptors for the messenger histamine, which reduces vasodilatation and increased blood flow to the smallest hair vessels (capillaries).These processes are responsible for the development of travel complaints.The effect occurs just 15 to 30 minutes after ingestion and lasts 3 to 6 hours.The tablets can be divided so that the dosage can be adjusted individually.

Each tablet contains 50 mg dimenhydrinate as active ingredient.The excipients are calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, lactose monohydrate, cellulose powder, carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), highly disperse silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

Reisegold® tabs for motion sickness must not be used if you are allergic to any of the components of the preparation.

Dosage

To prevent motion sickness, 1 tablet should be taken 3 times a day, with the first tablet taken 30 minutes before the start of the trip.To treat motion sickness, 1 to 2 tablets can be taken every 4 hours, but no more than 6 tablets per day.Children 6 to 12 years old take 1/2 to 1 tablet every 6 to 8 hours, but no more than 3 tablets daily.

Intake

The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid before meals.

Patient information

Reisegold® tabs for motion sickness contain lactose.Drowsiness, memory problems and reduced ability to concentrate may have an adverse effect on the ability to drive or use machines.You should not drink alcohol during treatment as this can increase the effect of the medication and further impair your ability to drive.

Pregnancy

Reisegold® tabs for motion sickness must not be taken during pregnancy as dimenhydrinate can trigger premature contractions.Dimenhydrinate passes into breast milk and should therefore not be taken while breastfeeding.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

Other

Skin sensitivity to light may occur after use of dimenhydrinate;therefore direct sunlight should be avoided.Dimenhydrinate can potentially cause false test results in allergy tests.After prolonged daily use, sudden cessation of treatment may temporarily cause sleep disturbances.Therefore, in these cases, treatment should be stopped by gradually reducing the dose.Dimenhydrinate is not suitable for the sole treatment of nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy.
