Directions for use of the article Echinacea Ratiopharm Liquidum Echinacea-ratiopharm Liquid is a herbal immune stimulant and is used for the supportive treatment of frequently recurring infections in the respiratory tract. It contains the active ingredient purple coneflower press juice and is recommended for adolescents aged 12 and over and adults. The dosage is 2.5 ml of the solution 3 times a day. The drops can be taken undiluted or diluted with water. The treatment should not last longer than 10 days. Children under 12 years of age should not take the medicine. There are some contraindications to be aware of. These include hypersensitivity to the ingredients, certain systemic diseases, autoimmune diseases, tuberculosis, HIV-infections and pregnancy or breastfeeding. Possible side effects may include hypersensitivity reactions, gastrointestinal disorders and blood count changes. The medicinal product should be kept out of reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date. It contains 22% alcohol by volume. Side effects should be reported to the doctor or pharmacist. There are certain maximum quantities that may be dispensed per quarter. It should be used in household quantities.
