Artelac® Lipids EDO® is a dropper gel that is used for heavily watery dry eyes.These can be caused by chronic illnesses or the use of certain medications and can often not be adequately alleviated with thin eye moisturizers.The drop gel provides long-lasting protection for the surface of the eye by supplementing and stabilizing the lipid layer of the tear film.This reduces the evaporation of the aqueous layer.The carbomer it contains also moisturizes the cornea and conjunctiva of the eye.

Area of application

Artelac® Lipids EDO® eye gel drops are suitable for calming and relieving long-lasting dry eye symptoms caused by a chronic lack of tear fluid.Such a deficiency can arise from various factors, such as inflammation and dysfunction of the tear gland, insufficient blinking, sensory impairments or reduced quality of the tear fluid.Due to the complex nature of tear film disorders, treatment options are limited.However, Artelac® Lipids EDO® support all three layers of the tear film, including the outer lipid layer, helping to relieve symptoms and provide long-lasting lubrication of the ocular surface.

Mode of action

Artelac® Lipids EDO® eye gel drops act like a protective shield that, as a drop gel, protects the surface of the eye for a long time.The rich lipids it contains supplement and stabilize the lipid layer of the tear film, thereby reducing the evaporation of the aqueous layer.The carbomer also moisturizes the cornea and conjunctiva for a long time.

Artelac® Lipids EDO® eye gel drops contain 2 mg carbomer, medium-chain triglycerides (lipids) and water for injection purposes.In addition, they contain sorbitol, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate and sodium hydroxide as well as cetrimide as preservatives.Artelac® Lipids EDO® eye gel drops are free of preservatives.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.

Dosage

The duration of treatment for dry eyes always depends on the severity and intensity of the symptoms.Therefore, as needed, add a drop of Artelac® Lipids EDO® eye gel drops into each eye 3 to 5 times a day or, if necessary, more frequently.Contact lens wearers should wait approx. 15 minutes after application before inserting them.

Patient information

If you use different eye products, wait about 15 minutes before using another product.Immediately after instillation, you may experience blurred vision for a short time.Avoid operating vehicles or machines during this time.

Notes

Store the medical device at a maximum of 25 °C and protect it from light.

Application

Grasp the one-dose ophtiol by the end with the label and carefully separate it from the strip.Hold the one-dose ophtiol by the end with the label cap side down and gently tap until all of the eye gel is in the neck of the one-dose ophtiol.Unscrew the cap of the one-dose ophtiol (do not pull).Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down slightly with one finger of your free hand.Hold the ophtiol vertically over the eye with the drip tip pointing downwards, avoiding touching the eye.Squeeze the ophtiol to instill a drop into the inferior conjunctival sac.Then close your eyes, move them back and forth slightly and blink so that the gel drop is well distributed over the surface of the eye.

Ingredients per 0.6 ml solution: 1.2 mg carbomer.Other ingredients: medium-chain triglycerides, sorbitol, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, disodium hydrogen phosphate-12 water, water for injections.
