Artelac® Lipids - relief from very watery dry eyes

Artelac® Lipids is a dropper gel that provides relief for heavily watery, dry eyes.These can be caused by chronic illnesses or the use of certain medications and can often not be adequately treated with thin, lipid-containing eye moisturizers.The drop gel provides long-lasting protection for the surface of the eye by supplementing and stabilizing the lipid layer, thereby reducing the evaporation of the aqueous layer.In addition, the carbomer it contains additionally moisturizes the cornea and conjunctiva.

Area of application

Artelac® Lipids eye gel drops are suitable for calming and relieving long-lasting dry eye symptoms caused by a chronic lack of tear fluid.Such a deficiency can arise from various factors, such as inflammation and dysfunction of the tear gland, insufficient blinking, sensory impairments or reduced quality of the tear fluid.Due to the complex nature of tear film disorders, treatment options are limited.However, Artelac® Lipids support all three layers of the tear film, including the outer lipid layer, helping to relieve symptoms and provide long-lasting lubrication of the ocular surface.

Contact lenses should be removed before use and can be reinserted 15 minutes after use.

Mode of action

Artelac® Lipids eye gel drops act like a protective shield that, as a drop gel, protects the surface of the eye for a long time.The rich lipids it contains supplement and stabilize the lipid layer of the tear film, thereby reducing the evaporation of the aqueous layer.The carbomer also moisturizes the cornea and conjunctiva for a long time.

Artelac® Lipids eye gel drops contain 2 mg carbomer, medium-chain triglycerides (lipids) and water for injection purposes.In addition, they contain sorbitol, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate and sodium hydroxide as well as cetrimide as preservatives.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.

Dosage

The duration of treatment for dry eyes always depends on the severity and intensity of the symptoms.Therefore, as needed, add a drop of Artelac® Lipids eye gel drops into each eye 3 to 5 times a day or, if necessary, more frequently.Contact lens wearers should wait approx. 15 minutes after application before inserting them.

Patient information

If you use different eye products, wait about 15 minutes before using another product.

Notes

After opening, the product can be used for 6 weeks.Store the medical device at max. 25 °C.No prescription is required for this product.

Application

Before each use, remove the protective cap from the top of the bottle.Be careful not to touch the drip tip.Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down slightly with one finger of your free hand.Hold the bottle vertically over the eye with the drip tip pointing downwards, avoiding touching the eye.Squeeze the bottle to instill a drop into the inferior conjunctival sac.Place the protective cap back on the bottle tip after each use.Then close your eyes, move them back and forth slightly and blink so that the gel drop is well distributed over the surface of the eye.
