Zinc paste BW is a medicine used externally to cover and protect healthy skin and to bind fluids in acute and subacute skin diseases. The main active ingredients are 30 g of zinc oxide and yellow vaseline. The medication should be applied to the affected skin areas once or several times a day. It is important to note that the zinc oxide contained is difficult to remove from the wash and therefore the treated skin area should be covered with a gauze compress, plaster or bandage. There is no limit to the duration of application, but a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted if the effects are strong or weak. Pregnant women should avoid large area applications and applications to the breast. Mild burning may occur when the paste is applied to inflamed areas of the skin. The zinc paste should be completely removed before applying other topical medicines.
