Description of the herbal medicine
This herbal medicine is used for mild depressive moods and episodic depressive disorders.It is designed to relieve symptoms and improve well-being.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The preparation contains 600 mg St. John's wort dry extract, prepared with methanol 80% (V/V) as an extractant.The following excipients are also included: ascorbic acid, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium salt, iron (III) hydroxide oxide-x-water, hypromellose, magnesium stearate (vegetable), sodium saccharin, precipitated silicon dioxide, stearic acid, titanium dioxide and vanillin.
Contraindications and interactions
The medicine must not be taken if you have severe, temporary depressive disorders, during pregnancy or if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredients or excipients.It should not be used with certain drugs that are broken down and excreted via the cytochrome P450 enzyme system or P-glycoprotein, such as certain anti-HIV-drugs, protease inhibitors for the treatment of hepatitis C, immunosuppressants, cell growth inhibitory drugs in cancer treatment and coumarin-type anticoagulant drugs.It is also not permitted to take them at the same time as other antidepressants.
Dosage and application
Always take the product exactly as directed.Adults (18 years and older) should take one film-coated tablet once a day in the morning, which corresponds to a daily dose of 600 mg of St. John's wort extract.The film-coated tablets should be taken whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of water, and not while lying down.It can be taken regardless of meals.
A period of 4 to 6 weeks is usually required to achieve a significant improvement in symptoms.If symptoms persist for more than 4 weeks or worsen, you should seek medical attention.There are no specific dosage recommendations for people with impaired kidney or liver function as there are insufficient data.
Special instructions and precautions
Medicines containing St. John's wort can influence the metabolism of other medicines taken at the same time, which can lead to a reduced or shortened effect.It is not recommended to use the medicine in children and adolescents under 18 years of age as there are insufficient data.During use, intensive UV-radiation and long sunbathing should be avoided.
Women using hormonal contraceptives should take additional contraceptive precautions as the effectiveness of contraception may be reduced.There are insufficient studies on the effect of the drug on the ability to drive and use machines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The preparation must not be taken during pregnancy as there are no sufficient studies and the potential risk to humans is unknown.Breastfeeding women should also not take the medicine, as there is insufficient information as to whether components of the active ingredient pass into breast milk.
