Instructions for use of the article Bactigras Antiseptic Paraffin Gauze 15x20cm: Bactigras is a soft paraffin gauze dressing with chlorhexidine that acts as an anti-adhesive between the wound and secondary dressing. The open dressing structure allows wound exudate to drain easily into an absorbent secondary dressing. A special weave prevents fraying when the dressing is cut. Bactigras is effective against a broad spectrum of germs and thus reduces the risk of germ colonisation of the wound. The dressing measures 15 x 20 cm and contains an antiseptic (0.5% chlorhexidine acetate) with a broad spectrum of activity. It can be used for infection prophylaxis and treatment. Bactigras is permeable to air and exudate to prevent skin maceration, protects the wound surface and edges with an ointment coating and allows atraumatic dressing changes and undisturbed wound rest. A secondary dressing such as an absorbent dressing pad, film dressing or fixation bandage is required for application. Bactigras is suitable for a variety of wounds where there is a risk of infection or for infected wounds in conjunction with systemic antibiotic therapy.
