Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
This preparation contains 9 mg sodium chloride, which corresponds to 0.154 mmol sodium ions and 0.154 mmol chloride ions.Concentrated hydrochloric acid and water for injection purposes are included as excipients.
Area of application
The preparation is a potassium-free sodium chloride solution with a concentration of 0.9%.It serves as a carrier solution for various electrolyte concentrates and medications that are compatible with it.No prescription is required for this product.
Contraindications
The preparation must not be used if you suffer from an increased level of chloride in the blood (hyperchloremia) or an increased level of sodium in the blood (hypernatremia). If medicines are added to the sodium chloride solution, you should read the instructions for use of these medicines carefully to check whether the solution can be given to you.
Dosage
The dosage and method of administration will be determined by your doctor. These depend on the information for the medicine dissolved in the sodium chloride solution. When using it as a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates, it is important to follow the instructions for use of the medication to be mixed.
If an overdose occurs, symptoms such as overhydration, increased sodium or chloride blood levels, increased blood osmotic pressure and metabolic disorder with hyperacidity of the blood may occur. In such cases, the supply of the solution should be interrupted and accelerated elimination via the kidneys and a reduced supply of the corresponding electrolytes should be carried out.If a medicine has been added to the sodium chloride solution, this medicine can also cause symptoms that are listed in the relevant instructions for use.
The decision to discontinue use will also be made by your doctor. If you have any further questions about use, you should contact your doctor or nurse.
Intake
The preparation will be given to you by a doctor or nursing staff. It can be injected subcutaneously, intramuscularly or intravenously.Further information on use can be found in the instructions for use.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or nurse before using the product on you.Tell your doctor if you have or have had any of the following conditions: heart disease, impaired kidney function, hyperacidity of the blood, excessive blood volume in the blood vessels, high blood pressure, accumulation of fluid under the skin or in the lungs, liver disease, high blood pressure in pregnancy, aldosteronism, or other conditions associated with sodium retention.
Depending on the volume administered and the patient's condition, electrolyte and fluid status checks may be necessary. If any of these apply to you, your doctor may need to adjust your treatment or give you specific advice. This is particularly important for children and (premature) infants, as their bodies may retain too much sodium due to their not yet fully developed kidney function.
Ask your doctor or nurse for advice before driving or operating machines.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or nurse for advice before using this medicine. If other medicines are added to your injection solution during pregnancy or breast-feeding, ask your doctor and read the instructions for use of the added medicine.
Notes
