Pollstimol® - The herbal therapy for prostate diseases

Pollstimol® is a herbal medicine that is used to relieve symptoms of chronic abacterial prostatitis and benign prostate enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH).No prescription is required for this product.

Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate and can take various forms.The symptoms are often similar and significantly affect the quality of life.Common problems include micturition disorders such as a weak urinary stream, feeling of residual urine, urinary retention, frequent and nocturnal urination, and pain in the perineal, genital or lower abdominal area.In severe cases, blood in the urine may also occur.

There are different types of prostatitis.While acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis can be treated well with antibiotics, this is not the case with chronic abacterial prostatitis.However, this form is the most common and is often accompanied by less severe symptoms.The causes are not fully understood, but psychological stress such as stress plays an important role.It is therefore important to take your living situation into account in addition to medication.

Area of application

Pollstimol® is used for micturition problems in connection with benign prostate enlargement (BPH) in stages I-II according to Alken or II-III according to Vahlensieck.It also helps with chronic abacterial prostatitis.The medication relieves the symptoms, but does not eliminate the enlargement of the prostate.Therefore, regular medical checks should be carried out, especially if there is blood in the urine or acute urinary retention.

Mode of action

Pollstimol® contains grass pollen extracts from rye, timothy grass and corn.It is the only phytotherapeutic approved in Germany for the treatment of chronic abacterial prostatitis.The drug inhibits inflammation in the prostate, reduces pain and relieves symptoms.In the case of benign prostate enlargement, it improves micturition problems.

Each hard capsule contains 23 mg of an extract mixture of grass pollen (rye, timothy grass, corn) in a ratio of 30:1.5:1.In addition, Pollstimol® contains the following excipients: calcium D-gluconate 1-water, calcium hydrogenphosphate 2-water, microcrystalline cellulose, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x-water, gelatin, glucose solution, glucose, carbohydrates, lactose 1-water, magnesium stearate, sodium dodecyl sulfate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide and purified water.

Contraindications

Pollstimol® must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to grass pollen or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage

Always take Pollstimol® exactly as directed.If you have micturition problems, the usual dose is 2 hard capsules 2 to 3 times a day, which corresponds to a daily dose of 4 to 6 hard capsules.For chronic abacterial prostatitis, 2 hard capsules should be taken 3 times a day.The duration of use is not limited and should be at least 3 months.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think the effect is too strong or too weak.

If you have taken more than you should, please contact a doctor.Symptoms of poisoning are not known.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose next time.Continue taking as directed by your doctor or as described in these dosage instructions.

Intake

Take the capsules whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water, with meals.It is generally recommended not to take medicines while lying down.

Patient information

This medication only improves the symptoms of an enlarged prostate without resolving the enlargement.Therefore, you should consult a doctor at regular intervals.A doctor should be consulted, especially if there is blood in the urine or acute urinary retention.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

The medicine is not approved for use in women, especially pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Notes

Contains milk sugar (lactose).Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

Other

Pollstimol® only improves the symptoms of an enlarged prostate without resolving the enlargement.You should therefore see a doctor at regular intervals, especially if there is blood in your urine or acute urinary retention.
