ASS 500 - 1 A Pharma® contains the well-known and proven active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid.This active ingredient is widely used and helps with headaches, fever or mild pain.The medicine has an anti-inflammatory effect, relieves pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains and reduces fever in colds.

No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

The medicine is a painkiller, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory agent.It is used for mild to moderate pain and fever.It is particularly important to pay attention to the information for children and young people.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

The active ingredient is acetylsalicylic acid.Each tablet contains 500 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch and cellulose powder.

Dosage

The recommended dose for children aged 6 to 14 years is half to one tablet as a single dose, equivalent to 250 to 500 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.The total daily dose is one and a half to three tablets, corresponding to 750 to 1500 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.Adolescents and adults take one to two tablets as a single dose, equivalent to 500 to 1000 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.The total daily dose is three to six tablets, corresponding to 1500 to 3000 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.

The single dose can be taken at intervals of 4 to 8 hours up to three times a day if necessary.In patients with liver or kidney dysfunction, the dose must be reduced or the interval between doses extended.

Do not take this medicine for more than four days without medical or dental advice.If you think the effect is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.In the event of an overdose, symptoms such as ringing in the ears, hearing problems, sweating, nausea, vomiting, headaches and dizziness may occur.In such cases you should notify your doctor immediately.

Intake

Take the medicine whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water, and not on an empty stomach.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the preparation if you are hypersensitive to other painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs or certain medicines for rheumatism.The preparation should also be taken with caution if you have allergies, asthma, hay fever, swollen nasal mucous membranes or chronic respiratory diseases.The same applies to simultaneous treatment with anticoagulant drugs, to a history of stomach or intestinal ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding, and to impaired liver and kidney function.

Before operations, even minor procedures such as tooth extraction, there may be an increased tendency to bleed.Tell your doctor or dentist if you have taken this medicine.

If you take painkillers long-term, headaches can occur, which can lead to repeated use and thus cause the headache to continue.Habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.This risk is particularly high if you take several different painkillers in combination.

In low doses, acetylsalicylic acid reduces uric acid excretion.In patients at risk, this can potentially trigger a gout attack.The preparation belongs to a group of medicines that can affect women's fertility.This effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.

The medicine should only be used in children and adolescents with feverish illnesses on medical advice and only if other measures do not work.If these illnesses cause prolonged vomiting, it may be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.

No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy

You should not take the medicine in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy.Therefore, be sure to consult your doctor before taking it.In the last three months of pregnancy, you should not take acetylsalicylic acid before and during birth due to an increased risk of complications for the mother and child.

The active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities. Since adverse consequences for the infant have not yet been reported, interruption of breastfeeding is not necessary if the recommended dose is used occasionally.However, if you use it for a long time or take high doses, you should stop breastfeeding.

Notes

Do not take ASS 500 from 1A Pharma on an empty stomach.If you don't feel better or feel worse after four days, contact your doctor.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

Other

In case of liver and kidney dysfunction, the dose must be reduced or the interval between doses must be extended.In rare cases, frequent and prolonged use can lead to stomach ulcers and anemia due to hidden gastrointestinal bleeding.If you have black stools, you should contact your doctor immediately.Dizziness and ringing in the ears can be signs of overdose, especially in children and elderly patients.In these cases, the doctor should be notified.

Chronic ingestion of acetylsalicylic acid can cause headaches, which can lead to repeated use and thus maintenance of the headache.In general, long-term use of painkillers, especially when several painkillers are combined, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.

If taken before surgical procedures, the doctor or dentist should be consulted or informed.If the recommended dosage is exceeded, liver values may increase.Therefore, regular monitoring of liver values is necessary, especially in children.
