Instructions for use for Acic cream for cold sores, 2 g
Acic cream for cold sores
Cold sores manifest themselves as itchy and burning blisters on the lips. This unpleasant disease is caused by the herpes simplex virus. The infection usually occurs unnoticed in childhood and the virus subsequently remains in the body.It breaks out when the immune system is weakened, for example due to fever, stress or other infections.
Acic® cream for cold sores contains the active ingredient acyclovir, which fights the herpes virus.Acyclovir prevents the viruses from multiplying and stops the spread of cold sores. This significantly shortens the acute course of the illness and the symptoms subside quickly.
Areas of application
Acic® cream for cold sores is a medicine for the treatment of viral infections, more precisely an antiviral. It is used to relieve pain and itching in frequently recurring herpes infections with blisters in the lip area, also known as recurrent herpes labialis.
Mode of action
The active ingredient acyclovir in Acic® cream for cold sores fights certain viruses by damaging their genetic material. This stops the viruses from multiplying.

Dosage
In order to achieve the greatest possible treatment success, Acic® Cream for cold sores should be used at the first signs of herpes disease, such as burning, itching, feeling of tension and redness. The medicine should be applied using a cotton swab, smeared with an amount necessary for the size of the infected skin areas.
When applying it, care should be taken to ensure that not only the already visible signs of herpes, such as blisters, swelling and redness, are covered with the cream, but that adjacent areas are also included in the treatment. If the application is carried out by hand, it should be washed thoroughly before and after to prevent additional infection of the damaged areas of the skin or the transmission of viruses to areas of the mucous membrane and skin that are not yet infected.
The general duration of treatment is five days.
Intake
Acic® cream for cold sores should be applied thinly to the infected skin areas five times a day, every four hours. It is important to use the cream at the first signs of herpes disease. The duration of treatment should generally not exceed five days.In individual cases, treatment can be continued until the blisters have crusted over or healed, but a treatment period of ten days should not be exceeded.
