Instructions for use for OBSTINOL M Emulsion, 250 ml

Obstinol M Emulsion is a laxative used for the short-term treatment of constipation in adults, adolescents aged 12 years and over and children aged 2 years and over. It contains the active substance viscous paraffin. The dosage is based on body weight and is 10-20 ml once daily for children aged 2-6 years, 10-30 ml once daily for children aged 6-12 years and 10-45 ml once daily for adolescents aged 12 years and over and adults, 1 hour before or after a meal. The duration of treatment should not exceed 1 week. An overdose may lead to uncontrolled bowel movements. The medicinal product must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, impaired consciousness, gastric emptying disorders, difficulty in swallowing and intestinal obstruction. It must also not be used in infants and young children under 2 years of age. During pregnancy and lactation, a doctor should be consulted before using the medicinal product.
