It is made from fresh mistletoe and is available in different strengths. It is applied by subcutaneous injection near the tumour or metastases. The dosage is determined individually by the doctor and can be increased gradually. Local reactions may occur at the injection site, such as redness, swelling and induration. In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur that require immediate medical treatment. The duration of use of Helixor depends on the individual's condition and can be several years.
