Agnus castus STADA film-coated tablets are suitable for the treatment of menstrual complaints in women. They are used to treat rhythmic disturbances of menstruation, feelings of tension and swelling in the breasts and monthly recurring complaints before the onset of menstruation. However, in the case of discomfort in the breasts and menstrual disorders, a doctor should first be consulted to rule out possible diseases. The film-coated tablets contain chasteberry dry extract as the active ingredient and are taken once a day. The recommended dose is 1 tablet per day. The duration of use is not limited, but a reliable effect is only achieved after at least 3 monthly cycles. Side effects may include skin rash, itching, gastrointestinal complaints and headache. The medicine contains glucose and lactose. It must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, breast tumours or tumours of the pituitary gland. It is also not recommended for use during pregnancy and breast-feeding. The film-coated tablets should be stored at room temperature and have a maximum shelf life of 12 months after opening.
