Description of the drug

This medicine is a vitamin E supplement used to treat vitamin E deficiency.However, it is not suitable for cases where vitamin E deficiency occurs due to impaired absorption from the intestine.In such situations, parenteral preparations such as injection solutions are available.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The preparation contains 600 mg alpha-tocopherol acetate, which corresponds to 546.66 mg alpha-tocopherol.This is equivalent to 403 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherol equivalent.It also contains the excipients cochineal red A, gelatin, glycerol 85% and soybean oil.

Contraindications

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to alpha-tocopherol acetate (vitamin E) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The usual adult dose is one soft capsule once daily, equivalent to 600 mg DL-alpha-tocopherol acetate or 403 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherol equivalent.

The duration of use depends on the course of the underlying disease.Please discuss this with your doctor.If you feel that the effect is too strong or too weak, also talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

If you have taken more than you should, please contact a doctor.There are no known dangerous symptoms resulting from an overdose.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.Simply continue taking it as prescribed.

Intake

Take the medicine whole with sufficient liquid, preferably with a glass of drinking water (200 ml).

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you are also taking certain medicines to inhibit blood clotting or if you have a vitamin K deficiency.In the case of combined vitamin E and vitamin K deficiency, blood clotting must be carefully monitored.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Before taking or using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.During pregnancy you should consume 13 mg of vitamin E daily.The medicine crosses the placenta and so far no harm has been observed in the unborn child.If you are breastfeeding, you should take 17 mg of vitamin E daily, as the medicine passes into breast milk.
