ASS Dexcel Protect 75 mg are enteric-coated tablets containing the active substance acetylsalicylic acid. They are used for the symptomatic treatment of unstable angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction, as part of standard therapy. They are also used for reinfarction prophylaxis and are recommended after operations or other interventions on arterial blood vessels. In addition, they are suitable for the prevention of transient ischaemic attacks (TIA) and cerebral infarctions after precursor stages have occurred. It is recommended to take the tablets unchewed, about 30 minutes before a meal, with sufficient water. The dose varies depending on the area of application. The tablets contain 75 mg acetylsalicylic acid per tablet and must not be stored above 25 °C. An overdose can lead to various symptoms, so a doctor should be consulted immediately if suspected. Side effects may include gastrointestinal complaints, hypersensitivity reactions of the skin and others. Before use, contraindications such as hypersensitivity to the ingredients, ulcers in the digestive tract or increased bleeding tendency should be noted. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use. The tablets are prescription-only and should not be taken by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
