Calcimed D3 1000 mg / 880 I.U. chewable tablets are used for the prophylaxis and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency in the elderly and as a calcium and vitamin D supplement for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis. The recommended dose is 1 chewable tablet daily for adults and the elderly, while pregnant women should take only 1/2 chewable tablet daily. The tablet should be chewed before swallowing and can be taken independently of meals. If an overdose is suspected, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted immediately. The medicine should not be disposed of in sewage or household waste. Side effects may include increased calcium levels, constipation, nausea and skin rash. Before taking the medicine, possible contraindications should be considered, such as allergies to the active ingredients, increased calcium levels, kidney problems or pregnancy.
