The dosage recommendation for adults, adolescents and elderly patients is to dissolve and drink the contents of one sachet 1-3 times daily. With repeated use, the dose can be reduced to 1-2 sachets daily. No change in dose is required in patients with impaired renal function. Treatment with macrogol TAD should not normally exceed 2 weeks. However, repeated use may be necessary in severe chronic or intractable constipation caused by conditions such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease or the use of constipation-promoting drugs. Macrogol TAD should not be used for longer than 4 weeks without a doctor's instructions. To use, dissolve the contents of one sachet in 125 ml of water and drink. The drinking solution should be freshly prepared before ingestion and should not be mixed with other solutions, drinks or additives. It should be stored at temperatures below 25°C. The composition of one sachet contains macrogol 3350, sodium chloride, sodium hydrogen carbonate, potassium chloride and other ingredients such as sorbitol, acesulfame potassium, flavouring and colouring.
