Ingredients

Application

Macrogol TAD powder is suitable for adults, adolescents aged 12 and over and older patients.The recommended dosage is 1 sachet 1-3 times daily.For long-term use, the dose can be reduced to 1-2 sachets daily.

Type and duration of application

The contents of one sachet are dissolved in 125 ml of water and drunk.The duration of treatment should normally not exceed 2 weeks.However, repeated use may be necessary in the case of severe chronic or stubborn constipation, which may be caused, for example, by multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease or the use of constipation-promoting medications.The powder should not be used for longer than 4 weeks without medical advice.The drinking solution should be freshly prepared before taking and not mixed with other solutions, drinks or additives in order not to change the electrolyte concentration.

Mode of action

Macrogol TAD contains macrogol 3350 and electrolytes as active ingredients.Due to the high water-binding capacity of Macrogol 3350, a lot of fluid can be transported into the intestines without being absorbed by the body.This softens solid stool and increases stool volume, triggering natural bowel movement and ultimately stool excretion.Macrogol 3350 is also excreted.

By adding electrolytes (potassium and sodium salts) you get a drinking solution that compensates for a possible loss of the body's own electrolytes or water or avoids fluid stress on the body.

There is no sufficient experience with the use of macrogol TAD in children.Therefore, use in children under 12 years is not recommended.
