Ethanol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's solution is used for hygienic hand disinfection and the production of cooling compresses.The active ingredient ethanol has a disinfecting and cooling effect.

Active ingredient and ingredients

The main active ingredient of Ethanol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's solution is ethanol.100 ml of the solution contains 100 ml of ethanol 70% (v/v).The solution is clear and transparent.

Application

For hygienic hand disinfection, hands are rubbed with the solution and kept moist for at least one minute.For cooling compresses, the solution is used diluted with equal parts of water.The exposure times can be extended depending on the condition of the skin and how dirty it is.Ethanol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's solution is not spore-killing and therefore not suitable for storing sterile instruments and syringes.

Contraindications

Ethanol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's solution must not be used if you are hypersensitive to ethanol.It is not suitable for disinfecting large, open wounds.

Side effects

Storage

Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiration date stated on the label.Keep the solution tightly closed and away from sources of ignition as it is highly flammable.If the solution is spilled, you should immediately take measures to prevent fire and explosion, such as collecting the spilled liquid, diluting it with water, ventilating the room and eliminating sources of ignition.
