Instructions for use for the disinfectant Ethanol 70% V/V Hofmanns Ethanol 70% V/V Hofmanns is used as a disinfectant for hygienic hand disinfection and for the preparation of cold packs. It is a solution that is applied to the skin and is available without a prescription. It is important to read the package leaflet carefully and use the product correctly. Before use, it should be noted that Ethanol 70% V/V Hofmanns should not be used if you are allergic to ethanol or when disinfecting open wounds or storing sterile instruments and syringes. There are no known interactions with other medicines. Pregnant and lactating women should consult their doctor or pharmacist before use. No special precautions are required with regard to the ability to drive or operate machinery. Ethanol 70% V/V Hofmanns is applied by rubbing the solution into the hands and maintaining a moist solution for 1 minute. For cooling compresses, the solution should be diluted with equal parts of water. Instructions on the duration of use and dosage are given in the package leaflet. Possible side effects may include redness and mild burning.
