Ethanol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's is a disinfectant that is used for hygienic hand disinfection and for the production of cooling compresses.The active ingredient in this product is ethanol.No prescription is required for this product.

Important notes

Ethanol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to ethanol, for disinfecting large open wounds or for storing sterile instruments and syringes.Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, even if they are non-prescription medicines.There are no known interactions with other products.

Application

Always use Ethanol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's exactly according to the instructions in the package insert.For hygienic hand disinfection, rub your hands with the solution and keep them moist for one minute.For cooling compresses, dilute the solution with equal parts water.The times stated are minimum times that can be extended depending on additional difficulties.Ethanol 70% (V/V) does not kill spores and is therefore not suitable for storing sterile instruments and syringes.The duration of use is in principle not limited.

Side effects

When rubbing the skin with Ethanol 70% (V/V) Hofmann's, redness and slight burning may occur.Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the side effects listed seriously affects you or if you notice any side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

Storage

Keep Hofmann's Ethanol 70% (V/V) out of the reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the label or carton.Keep it tightly closed and away from sources of ignition.If the solution is spilled, measures against fire and explosion must be taken immediately.
