Nexium Control is a short-term treatment for reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux in adults.The active ingredient esomeprazole helps to relieve the symptoms.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Nexium Control provides protection against heartburn and acid reflux for up to 24 hours.It is suitable for treating reflux symptoms and helps fight the cause of heartburn.

Mode of action

Heartburn occurs when stomach acid enters the esophagus.This can happen after eating fatty meals or while lying down.Nexium Control works directly at the point where the acid is produced.It inhibits the proton pumps in the stomach for 24 hours, which means less acid is produced and the symptoms disappear.This means you can go through the day relaxed again.

One Nexium Control tablet contains 20 mg esomeprazole.Other ingredients are glycerol monostearate, hyprolose, hypromellose, iron (III) oxide (red-brown) (E 172), iron (III) oxide (yellow) (E 172), magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.), methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) dispersion 30% (Ph.Eur.), microcrystalline cellulose, hard paraffin, macrogol6000, polysorbate 80, crospovidone (type A), sodium stearyl fumarate (Ph.Eur.), sugar-starch pellets (sucrose and corn starch), talc, titanium dioxide (E 171) and triethyl citrate.

Contraindications

Nexium Control should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients or other proton pump inhibitors.It is not suitable for children and young people under 18 years of age.Nexium Control must not be used when taking nelfinavir.If possible, the tablets should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet per day, which can be taken either on an empty stomach or with a meal.The tablet should be taken with plenty of liquid.It is important not to exceed the indicated dose to avoid overdose.

Intake

The tablet can be taken at any time of the day, either with food or on an empty stomach.It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and should not be chewed or crushed as it contains coated pellets that protect against stomach acid.Alternatively, the tablet can be dissolved in a glass of still water.The liquid should be drunk immediately or within 30 minutes, stirring the mixture immediately before drinking.The glass should then be rinsed with water and drunk to ensure all solid ingredients are ingested.

Patient information

It is recommended that you speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking Nexium Control if you have had a stomach ulcer or stomach surgery in the past, have been on ongoing treatment for reflux or heartburn for four or more weeks, have jaundice or serious liver problems, have serious kidney problems, or are over 55 years of age and have experienced new or recently changed reflux symptoms.Tell your doctor immediately if you notice symptoms such as weight loss, trouble swallowing, stomach pain, vomiting food or blood, black stools, or severe diarrhea.Seek immediate medical attention if you experience chest pain with dizziness, sweating, dizziness, or shoulder pain with shortness of breath.Tell your doctor if you are scheduled to have an endoscopy, urea breath test, or a certain blood test (chromogranin A).

Nexium Control is not suitable for children and young people under 18 years of age.The likelihood that the medicine will affect your ability to drive or use machines is small.However, side effects such as dizziness and blurred vision may occasionally occur.If you are affected, you should not drive or operate machines.

Pregnancy

As a precautionary measure, you should avoid taking Nexium Control during pregnancy if possible.It should not be taken while breastfeeding.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.

Notes
