Application

This medicine is a painkiller and anti-inflammatory agent from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR).It is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever in adults and adolescents aged 16 years and over.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 25 mg diclofenac potassium, which corresponds to 22.15 mg diclofenac.The following excipients are also included: potassium hydrogen carbonate, mannitol, sodium dodecyl sulfate, macrogol 6000, crospovidone (type A), magnesium stearate (vegetable), hypromellose and macrogol 400.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to diclofenac or any of the other ingredients.It is also not permitted to be taken if you have certain pre-existing illnesses or in special life situations.These include, but are not limited to, asthma attacks or skin reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAR, unexplained blood formation disorders, gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, cerebral hemorrhages, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, heart disease or cerebrovascular disease, and the last trimester of pregnancy.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 16 and over is 1 film-coated tablet initially, then 1 film-coated tablet every 4 to 6 hours as required.The maximum amount of 3 film-coated tablets (corresponding to 75 mg diclofenac potassium) within 24 hours should not be exceeded.

It should not be used for longer than 4 days in case of pain or for longer than 3 days in case of fever without medical or dental advice.If symptoms persist or worsen, you should consult a doctor.It is important to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible period of time.

Various symptoms may occur in the event of an overdose, including central nervous system disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding and liver and kidney dysfunction.There is no specific antidote, so if you suspect an overdose, you should contact your doctor immediately.

Intake

The film-coated tablets are swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.For the best possible effectiveness, they should not be taken with or immediately after eating.

Patient information

Before taking diclofenac, tell your doctor if you smoke, have diabetes, or have certain heart diseases.Simultaneous use with other NSAR should be avoided.Elderly patients require particularly careful medical monitoring because the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and ulcers is higher.

NSAR may increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, especially with high doses and prolonged treatment.If you have heart problems or are at increased risk of heart problems, you should discuss your treatment with your doctor.

Serious skin reactions may occur during NSARtherapy.At the first sign of skin rashes or other hypersensitivity reactions, the product should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

If you have liver dysfunction, the medicine should only be taken after consulting your doctor.With long-term use, regular monitoring of liver function is required.

The medicine can inhibit platelet aggregation and mask the signs of infections.If used for a long time, regular monitoring of kidney function and blood counts is necessary.

Use in children and adolescents under 16 years of age is not recommended as there is insufficient experience.

Since the medicine can cause central nervous side effects such as tiredness and dizziness, the ability to react can be impaired.In this case, do not drive a car or other vehicle or operate machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

During pregnancy, the product should only be used after consulting your doctor.It must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.

The active ingredient diclofenac and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.For short-term use, interruption of breastfeeding is usually not necessary.

Diclofenac can make it harder to get pregnant.You should tell your doctor if you plan to become pregnant or if you have problems becoming pregnant.
