Calcium Vitamin D3 Zentiva 1000 mg/880 I.U. Chewable Tablets are used for the prophylaxis and treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency in elderly people and for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis. Certain precautions should be taken into account before taking the tablets, for example if you have hyperparathyroidism or severe kidney problems. There are also interactions with other medications to consider. The recommended dose is one chewable tablet daily for adults and the elderly, while pregnant women should only take half a chewable tablet. The tablets should be chewed before swallowing and can be taken independently of meals. Possible side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, skin rash and high calcium levels. In case of allergic reactions, the medicine should be discontinued. The chewable tablets should be stored according to the instructions on the packaging.
