Active ingredients and ingredients

This medicine contains important substances for bone formation, namely mineral calcium and vitamin D. The active ingredients include 1250 mg of calcium carbonate, 500 mg of calcium ions and 440 IE colecalciferol.Additionally, it contains 4.4 mg colecalciferol dry concentrate and 0.011 mg colecalciferol.The excipients included are alpha-tocopherol, 1 mg aspartame, phenylalanine, magnesium stearate, corn starch, modified corn starch, mannitol, sodium ascorbate, 0.96 mg sucrose, highly disperse silicon dioxide, medium-chain triglycerides, orange flavor, maltodextrin and arabic gum.

Areas of application

This medicine is used to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiencies in the elderly.It also serves as a calcium and vitamin D supplement as part of a specific treatment for osteoporosis.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium carbonate, vitamin D or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The medicine should also not be used if there is severe impairment of kidney function, too high a calcium level in the blood or urine, kidney stones, calcium deposits in the kidneys or too high a vitamin D level in the blood.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is 1 chewable tablet twice daily.The medicine is not intended for use in children and adolescents.If you have taken more than you should, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist immediately.Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.

The tablets can be chewed or sucked.If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking this medicine if you are receiving long-term treatment, especially if you are also taking diuretics or cardiac glycosides.You should also consult if you have kidney problems, sarcoidosis, osteoporosis with limited mobility or if you are using other preparations containing vitamin D.The medicine has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.During pregnancy you should not take more than 2,500 mg of calcium and 4,000 IU of vitamin D per day.The preparation can be used during breastfeeding, although it should be noted that calcium and vitamin D3 are excreted in breast milk.
