Calcigen D Citro 600 mg/400 IU chewable tablets contain the active ingredients calcium carbonate and colecalciferol (vitamin D3).Calcium is essential for building and maintaining healthy bones, while vitamin D3 promotes the absorption of calcium from the intestines and supports its incorporation into the bones.This preparation is used in elderly patients to treat combined vitamin D and calcium deficiencies.It can also be used as an adjunct to specific osteoporosis treatment, especially when vitamin D and calcium levels are too low or there is a high risk of such deficiencies.

Active ingredients and ingredients

1 Chewable tablet contains:

1500 mg calcium carbonate (equivalent to 600 mg calcium) and 4 mg colecalciferol dry concentrate (equivalent to 400 IU vitamin D3).

Other ingredients are: xylitol, mannitol, magnesium stearate (vegetable), highly disperse silicon dioxide, pre-gelatinized corn starch, butylated hydroxytoluene (E321), medium-chain triglycerides, sucrose, gelatin, modified starch, sodium aluminum silicate and flavorings.

Dosage and application

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

The usual dose for adults and the elderly is one tablet twice daily.Pregnant women should only take one tablet per day.During long-term treatment, calcium levels in the urine and blood must be monitored regularly, especially if you develop kidney stones frequently.

Side effects

If you are affected by kidney failure.

If you suffer from kidney stones (nephrolithiasis) or calcium deposits in the kidneys (nephrocalcinosis).
