Instructions for use of Calcimagon-D3

Calcimagon-D3 is a vitamin and mineral preparation that is used as a vitamin D and calcium supplement to support specific therapy, to prevent and treat osteoporosis and to prevent and treat vitamin D and calcium deficiencies in older people.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients in Calcimagon-D3 are calcium carbonate and vitamin D3.One chewable tablet contains 1,250 mg of calcium carbonate, equivalent to 500 mg of calcium, and 4 mg of colecalciferol, equivalent to 400 international units of vitamin D3.Other ingredients include sorbitol, povidone, isomalt, lemon flavor, magnesium stearate, aspartame, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, all-rac-alpha-tocopherol, sucrose, modified corn starch, medium chain triglycerides, sodium ascorbate and anhydrous colloidal silica.

Areas of application

Calcimagon-D3 is used as a supportive therapy for osteoporosis, for bone softening caused by vitamin D deficiency in children and adults, and for hypothyroidism of the parathyroid glands.It helps to ensure sufficient intake of vitamin D and calcium to ensure the development and maintenance of a healthy bone structure and the functionality of vital metabolic processes.

Dosage and application

Adults and the elderly should take one chewable tablet twice daily.The tablet can be sucked or chewed.The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.Calcimagon-D3 can be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Calcimagon-D3 must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D or any of the other ingredients, have too high a calcium level in your blood or urine, suffer from kidney stones or have a too high vitamin D level in your blood.It is not intended for use in children and adolescents.

Side effects

Possible side effects include increased calcium levels in the blood or urine, constipation, bloating, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, allergic reactions such as itching, rash and hives, and indigestion.In rare cases, milk-alkaline syndrome may occur.

Warnings and precautions

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Calcimagon-D3 if you suffer from sarcoidosis, are receiving long-term treatment, are using other preparations containing vitamin D, have immobilization osteoporosis or suffer from impaired kidney function.Calcimagon-D3 contains aspartame, sorbitol, isomalt and sucrose, which may be important for people with phenylketonuria or sugar intolerance.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy, the daily intake of 1,500 mg calcium and 600 international units of vitamin D should not be exceeded.During breastfeeding, calcium and vitamin D3 pass into breast milk, which should be taken into account when giving additional vitamin D to the child.

Storage

Keep Calcimagon-D3 out of the reach of children and do not store it above 30°C.Store it in the original packaging to protect the contents from light and moisture.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and container.
