This herbal remedy is used both to treat gastrointestinal complaints and to care for the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.When used internally, it helps with digestive problems accompanied by mild gastrointestinal cramps, a feeling of fullness and flatulence.It can also be used for increased sweat secretion.Applied externally, it relieves inflammation of the mouth and throat mucosa.

Contraindications

There are no known contraindications for use as a tea infusion.

Dosage

The following dosage instructions apply unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise.It is important to follow the instructions for use so that the tea can work optimally.

If you have gastrointestinal problems, you should drink the tea in a cup three to four times a day.If the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat area are inflamed, you can use the tea infusion several times a day to rinse or gargle.

Intake

For internal use for gastrointestinal complaints, put a teaspoonful of sage leaves (approx. 1.5 g) in a cup and pour boiling water (approx. 150 ml) over it.Let the tea steep for about 10-15 minutes and, if necessary, strain it through a tea strainer.

For external use in the mouth and throat area, use one and a half teaspoonfuls of sage leaves (approx. 2.5 g) and pour boiling water (approx. 100 ml) over them.Let the tea steep for about 10-15 minutes and strain it through a tea strainer.

Patient information

There is no sufficient experience with the use of the tea in children under 12 years of age.Therefore, the tea is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
