Prontomed Herpes Gel is a medical product used for the external treatment of herpes blisters (herpes labialis). It can also be used for mouth corner rhagades and aphthae. The gel supports the healing of the blisters if it is applied in time at the first signs such as tingling and burning. It forms a protective film and absorbs exudates. This inhibits the spread of infection-promoting germs and supports healing. The product is dermatologically "very well" tolerated and clinically proven. It contains no greasy ingredients that could favour bacteria and viruses. The application may cause a slight tingling sensation. The gel is based on an electrochemically-activated mineral salt solution that dissolves in water and salt after application.
