Area of application

This medicine is used to reduce swelling and is used as a supportive treatment for acute swelling following blunt injuries such as bruises or bruises.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient of this preparation is heparin sodium, obtained from pig mucosa.The ointment also contains the following excipients: (hexadecyl, octadecyl)-2-ethylhexanoate, isopropyl myristate, allantoin, carbomer 980, dexpanthenol, disodium edetate 2-water, glycerol monostearate, microcrystalline hydrocarbons, levomenthol, thin paraffin, microcrystalline paraffins, Tris[dodecylpoly(oxyethylen)-4]phosphate,Trometamol, white petroleum jelly, purified water and 2.2 mg sorbic acid.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to heparin or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also contraindicated in the event of an acute or known allergic drop in the blood platelet count (thrombocytopenia type II) caused by heparin.

Dosage

Apply the medicine thinly and evenly to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily.The duration of use should not be longer than 10 days unless your doctor decides otherwise.No prescription is required for this product.If you are unsure or if the effect is too strong or too weak, please talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Application

Apply the ointment thinly and evenly to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day.Wash your hands thoroughly with soap after use.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use.If new symptoms appear that could indicate a thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, such as swelling, feeling of warmth, red and tense skin, feeling of tension and pain in the foot, calf and back of the knee or sudden shortness of breath, chest pain and weakness, the presence of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia type II must be ruled out and the blood platelet count must be checked.If drugs that interfere with blood clotting are used at the same time, an increased risk of bleeding cannot be ruled out.Injections into the muscle should be avoided during treatment to avoid bruising.The medicine should not be applied to mucous membranes, open wounds or weeping eczema.The medicine has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Experience to date has not shown any harmful effects.Heparin does not cross the placenta and does not pass into breast milk.
