Information for use of the article HEPATHROMBIN Ointment 30.000: Hepathrombin Ointment 30.000 contains the active substance heparin sodium and is used for the supportive treatment of acute swelling after blunt trauma. The instructions for use should be followed carefully. It is important to read the package leaflet carefully and to use the ointment according to the instructions. If there are any questions or uncertainties, the pharmacist can be contacted. The ointment should be applied thinly and evenly to the affected area and should not be used for more than 10 days. Contact with open wounds should be avoided during application. Particular caution should be exercised if new symptoms appear which could indicate thrombosis or pulmonary embolism. In this case, a doctor should be consulted immediately. The ointment should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to heparin, levomenthol or other ingredients, in infants and small children up to 2 years of age and on open wounds and/or weeping eczema. An increased risk of bleeding should be taken into account in the case of simultaneous use of medicinal products that interfere with blood clotting. In certain groups such as pregnant and breastfeeding women, the doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use. Possible HEPATHROMBIN side effects are allergic reactions to heparin when applied to the skin and hypersensitivity reactions in appropriately sensitised patients. If allergic skin reactions occur, the application should be discontinued. No further special measures are necessary. Other side effects may also occur, but so far these have only been observed in exceptional cases. In case of intolerances or changes during treatment, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. Important information: - HEPATHROMBIN Ointment 30,000 is suitable for the supportive treatment of acute states of swelling after blunt trauma. - The ointment should be applied thinly and evenly and should not be used for longer than 10 days. - If new symptoms appear which could indicate thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, a doctor should be consulted immediately. - The ointment should not be applied to open wounds and/or weeping eczema. - There may be an increased risk of bleeding if medicines that interfere with blood clotting are used at the same time. - Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use in pregnant women, breastfeeding women and other risk groups. - Possible side effects should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist.
