PROSPAN® Cough liquid is particularly suitable for acute coughs and chronic bronchial diseases in adults.The cough liquid provides noticeably strong relief: it loosens stuck-on mucus, making it easier to cough up, and it also expands narrowed bronchial tubes. PROSPAN® relieves the urge to cough and fights inflammation.

5 ml liquid of PROSPAN® cough liquid contains: Active ingredient: 35 mg dry extract of ivy leaves (5 - 7.5: 1).Extractant: Ethanol 30% (m/m).Other ingredients: potassium sorbate (Ph.Eur.) (preservative), anhydrous citric acid (Ph.Eur.), xanthan gum, sorbitol solution 70% (crystallizing) (Ph.Eur.), flavorings, levomenthol, purified water.5 ml of liquid contains 1.926 g sorbitol (Ph.Eur.) (sugar substitute) = 0.16 BE.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage

Recommended use of PROSPAN® cough liquid: Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not completely sure.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: Children from 6 to 11 years: 5 ml twice daily. Adults and adolescents from 12 years: 5 ml 3 times daily. Use by mouth with the measuring cup included (5 ml marking).Shake the bottle well before each use.

Intake

The liquid should be taken undiluted in the morning, (midday) and evening.

Patient information

Take special care when taking: Children: Medicine is not suitable for use in children under 6 years of age.Driving and using machines: No special precautions are required.

Pregnancy

This medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding as there are no sufficient studies.
