Directions for use of the article Legalon Madaus 156 mg Hartkapseln: Legalon Madaus 156 mg is a herbal medicinal product used for the supportive treatment of chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage. It is not intended for the treatment of acute poisoning. Drug therapy is not a substitute for avoiding causes that damage the liver, such as alcohol. In case of jaundice, a doctor should be consulted. The dosage for adults is 1 hard capsule 2 times daily, regardless of the meal. The total dose should not be exceeded. The capsule should be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid. The duration of use depends on the type, severity and course of the disease and should be determined by the attending physician. In the event of side effects or uncertainty about use, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. Legalon Madaus 156 mg must not be taken if you are allergic to preparations of milk thistle fruit or other plants from the same plant family. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation. In case of acute poisoning, consult a doctor. Children and adolescents under 18 years of age should not take Legalon Madaus 156 mg. Possible side effects may include gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea and diarrhoea as well as hypersensitivity reactions of the skin such as skin rash, itching and shortness of breath. If side effects occur, a doctor should be consulted. The ingredients of Legalon Madaus 156 mg come from the milk thistle plant and have liver-protecting properties. They protect the liver from toxins, promote the formation of new liver cells and reduce the formation of inflammatory substances in the body. There may be interactions with other medicines. It is important to inform the doctor or pharmacist about other medicines used before starting treatment with a new medicine.
