Perio-Aid Active Control mouthwashes are alcohol-free solutions used to actively control oral biofilms (plaque). They are particularly suitable for people who have an excessive accumulation of plaque or who have difficulty with oral hygiene, e.g. after dental treatments. The mouthwash contains 0.05% chlorhexidine and 0.05% cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC), two active ingredients that contribute to daily plaque control. It is easy to use: after brushing your teeth, rinse your mouth with 15 ml of undiluted mouthwash for 30 seconds in the morning and evening. It is important not to swallow the rinse or rinse with water. You should also not eat or drink anything for half an hour after application. It is recommended to rinse the mouth three times with plenty of water before using Perio-Aid Active Control mouthwash with anionic ingredients in toothpastes. Alternatively, Perio-Aid Intensive Care gel toothpaste can be used as it does not contain anionic ingredients. It should be noted that changes in taste sensation may occur but usually diminish over time. The use of chlorhexidine may cause temporary discolouration of the teeth and tongue. This discolouration can be avoided by careful brushing of the teeth. It is also recommended to clean interdental brushes before using the mouthwash to avoid discolouration. Perio-Aid Active Control mouthwashes are supported by numerous efficacy studies. The product should be kept out of the reach of children and away from direct sunlight.
