Doppelherz stomach gel against heartburn + for reflux is a medical product that is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux.It helps relieve associated symptoms such as heartburn, including during pregnancy, reflux esophagitis, acid reflux, indigestion, nocturnal reflux symptoms, cough, and larynx and pharyngeal inflammation.

Mechanism of action

The product contains sodium alginate and carbonates, which work after just three minutes.Sodium alginate is a natural polymer obtained from brown algae.When it comes into contact with stomach acid, it forms a gel, while the carbonates release carbon dioxide.This causes the gel to float and forms a protective layer that prevents gastric juice from flowing back into the esophagus.In addition, sodium bicarbonate neutralizes stomach acid.These properties protect the esophageal lining and promote its regeneration, reducing the risk of recurrent reflux esophagitis.

Doppelherz stomach gel for heartburn + reflux contains the following ingredients: purified water, sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, calcium carbonate, aroma, polyacrylic acid, sodium propyl-p-hydroxybenzoate, sodium methyl-p-hydroxybenzoate and sodium saccharin.

Area of application

The product is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux and relieve associated symptoms.These include heartburn, reflux esophagitis, acid reflux, indigestion, nocturnal reflux symptoms, cough, and larynx and pharyngeal inflammation.

Dosage

Adults and children over 12 years of age can take 1 to 2 dosage sachets after meals and before bedtime.The product should be shaken well before taking.For children under 12 years of age, use is only permitted after consultation with a doctor.In this case, follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Contraindications

The product should not be used in severe renal failure or severe renal insufficiency.If you are hypersensitive to the components, use should be avoided.If unwanted side effects occur, stop treatment and consult a doctor.The product may interfere with the absorption of oral medications.In this case, seek advice from your doctor and ensure a time interval of 2 hours between taking Doppelherz stomach gel for heartburn + reflux and other medicines.

One sachet (10 ml) contains approximately 100 mg sodium (4.4 mmol) and approximately 36 mg calcium (0.9 mmol).If you require a salt-restricted diet, for example if you have high blood pressure, heart, kidney or liver failure, hypercalcemia, nephrocalcinosis or recurrent calcium-containing kidney stones, please consult your doctor.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.Do not use the product after the expiry date stated on the package and sachets.Store it at temperatures between 8°C and 25°C, away from light and heat, and out of the reach of children.Do not store the product in the refrigerator.
