Area of application
The drops contain colecalciferol, also known as vitamin D. This vitamin is found in only a few foods and is also formed in the body when the skin is exposed to sunlight.Vitamin D supports the kidneys and intestines in absorbing calcium and plays an important role in bone building.
The medicine is used to prevent rickets in premature babies, newborns, young children and children at apparent risk.It is also used to support the treatment of osteoporosis in adults.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
The drops contain 0.06 mg colecalciferol, which corresponds to 2400 IE .Other ingredients include alpha-tocopherol acetate, orange peel oil, refined olive oil and polyglycerol-x-oleate as excipients.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to colecalciferol or any of the other ingredients.The drug should also not be used in cases of hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, increased vitamin D levels in the blood or nephrocalcinosis.
Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.To prevent rickets in infants and children, the recommended dose is 6 drops daily for infants under 1 year of age and 6 to 9 drops for children over 1 year of age.For premature babies, the dosage depends on birth weight.To support the treatment of osteoporosis, 12 to 15 drops daily are recommended.

The solution is administered according to the dosage instructions.Adults take the solution in a teaspoon of liquid.
Patient information
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.Particular caution is required in the case of impaired excretion of calcium and phosphate via the kidneys, in the case of treatment with benzothiadiazine derivatives, in the case of immobilization, in the case of sarcoidosis and in the case of symptoms that have already occurred, such as in the event of an overdose.Patients with kidney dysfunction or kidney stones should only take the medicine after consulting their doctor.
During long-term treatment, blood and urine calcium levels should be monitored regularly.If you take other medicines containing vitamin D at the same time or if you are exposed to strong sunlight, the dose must be taken into account.
Pregnancy
An adequate supply of vitamin D is necessary during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Daily doses above 600 IE vitamin D should only be taken as directed by a doctor.During pregnancy you must not take doses above 4000 IE vitamin D.Overdoses can harm the child.
Vitamin D and its metabolites are excreted in breast milk, which should be taken into account when giving additional vitamin D to the child.
