Septanasal nasal spray is used to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa in the event of a cold and to support the healing of mucosal lesions. It contains the active ingredients xylometazoline hydrochloride and dexpanthenol. Xylometazoline constricts the vessels and thus reduces mucus secretion, while dexpanthenol promotes wound healing and protects the nasal mucosa. The medicine is suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and over. The recommended dose for adults is one spray into each nostril up to 3 times a day. The duration of use is a maximum of 7 days and reapplication should only be done after a break of several days. In children 6 years and older, the same dose can be used, but you should consult a doctor about the duration of use. During application, the spray head should be inserted vertically into the nostril and pumped once while the patient breathes quietly through the nose. Long-term use and overdose may lead to chronic nasal mucosal swelling. Persons with elevated intraocular pressure should consult a doctor before use.
