Canephron® Uno is a herbal medicine used to relieve the symptoms of acute, uncomplicated cystitis.It helps with symptoms such as increased urge to urinate, burning when urinating and cramps in the abdomen.The drug contains a unique combination of rosemary, centaury and lovage, which has a fourfold effect: pain relieving, antispasmodic, bacterial flushing and anti-inflammatory.These active ingredients make it possible to comprehensively treat the symptoms of cystitis.

No prescription is required for this product.Canephron® Uno is suitable for adults and teenagers aged 12 and over.The recommended dosage is one tablet three times a day, which should be taken whole with sufficient liquid.Ample fluid intake supports the therapy.If symptoms do not improve after three days, it is advisable to seek medical advice.

Mode of action

The active ingredients in Canephron® Uno, namely rosemary, centaury and lovage, work together to relieve the symptoms of cystitis.Rosemary is known for its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.Centaury supports the antispasmodic effect, while lovage promotes the flushing of the urinary tract and thus supports the flushing out of bacteria.This combination makes Canephron® Uno an effective remedy against bladder infections.

Studies have shown that Canephron® Uno works on a par with an antibiotic and that 88% of treated patients did not experience a recurrence of cystitis in the following year.The medication is very well tolerated and gluten-free, making it an optimal choice for your home medicine cabinet.

Each coated tablet of Canephron® Uno contains 36 mg of centaury powder, 36 mg of lovage root powder and 36 mg of rosemary leaf powder.Excipients include lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, corn starch, povidone K25, silicon dioxide, calcium carbonate, virgin castor oil, ferric oxide, dextrin, spray-dried glucose syrup, montan glycol wax, povidone K30, sucrose, shellac, riboflavin, talc and titanium dioxide.

The medicine contains glucose, sucrose (sugar) and lactose.It must not be used in patients with hereditary fructose intolerance.

Contraindications

Canephron® Uno must not be taken if you are allergic to the active ingredients, to other apiaceae (umbellifera, e.g. anise, fennel), to anethole or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The medication should also not be used if you have stomach ulcers or edema due to impaired heart or kidney function and/or if your doctor has recommended reduced fluid intake.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over should take one coated tablet three times a day.The tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid.Plenty of fluid intake during the treatment phase supports the therapy.The medicine should not be used for self-medication for longer than two weeks.If the symptoms worsen or there is no improvement after three days, seek medical advice.

Intake

Take Canephron® Uno, one tablet three times a day, morning, afternoon and evening.Swallow the tablet whole with enough liquid, such as a glass of water.Plenty of fluid intake during the treatment phase supports the therapy.

Patient information

If you have persistent fever, pain in the lower abdomen, cramps, blood in the urine, difficulty urinating and acute urinary retention, you should consult a doctor immediately.There are no sufficient studies on the use of this medicine in children under 12 years of age.It should therefore not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Studies with this preparation on the ability to drive and use machines have not been carried out.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.Use of the drug during pregnancy may be considered if deemed necessary by the doctor.It is not known whether this preparation or its active ingredients/degradation products are excreted in breast milk.The medicine should not be used during breastfeeding.
