Pollival® nasal spray

Pollival® nasal spray contains the active ingredient azelastine, which is an antihistamine.This group of medicines works by protecting the body from the effects of histamine, which is produced during allergic reactions.The nasal spray is used for the symptomatic treatment of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and other allergic complaints.It is suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over.

What is Pollival® nasal spray?

Pollival® nasal spray from URSAPHARM is an anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory nasal spray.It is used to treat acute allergic symptoms of the nose caused by hay fever, such as sneezing attacks, runny nose, tingling or swollen mucous membranes.The active ingredient azelastine can alleviate allergy symptoms shortly after use by blocking the messenger histamine, which triggers allergy symptoms in the nasal mucosa.

What advantages does Pollival® nasal spray have?

The nasal spray is free of preservatives and has a shelf life of up to 6 months after opening.It is suitable for adults as well as teenagers and children aged 6 and over.No prescription is required for this product.

Ingredients

Active ingredient per 0.14 ml spray (= 1 spray): 0.14 mg azelastine hydrochloride.Other ingredients: Disodium edetate-2 water, hypromellose, disodium hydrogen phosphate-12 water, citric acid, sodium chloride, purified water.

Pollival® nasal spray is used for the symptomatic treatment of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and other allergic complaints.It is suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over.

Contraindications

Pollival® Nasal Spray must not be used if you are allergic to azelastine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The nasal spray must not be used in children under 6 years of age.The same application recommendations apply to adolescents as to adults.

Dosage

The recommended dose is 1 spray of Pollival® Nasal Spray per nostril twice daily (morning and evening).This corresponds to a daily dose of 0.56 mg azelastine hydrochloride.The nasal spray is intended for nasal use.Before use, blow your nose, activate the pump until the solution comes out, keep your head in an upright position and insert the spray opening into the nostril, inhaling gently.Repeat the process in the other nostril and wipe the nose adapter and close it with the protective cap.The nasal spray should always be used by the same person.

Intake

The nasal spray is intended for nasal use.Before use, blow your nose, remove the protective cap and activate the pump until the solution comes out.Keeping your head in an upright position, insert the spray opening into your nostril and pump once, inhaling gently.Repeat the process in the other nostril and wipe the nose adapter and close it with the protective cap.The nasal spray should always be used by the same person.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the nasal spray if you are not sure whether your symptoms are caused by an allergy.The nasal spray is not suitable for treating colds or flu.When using the nasal spray, symptoms such as fatigue, fatigue, exhaustion, dizziness or weakness are very rarely possible, which can also be caused by the clinical picture.In these cases, the ability to drive a motor vehicle and operate machines may be impaired.This applies to an even greater extent in connection with alcohol or medication, which in turn can impair the ability to react.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Although azelastine is not known to harm the unborn baby, the use of this medicine is not recommended during the first three months of pregnancy.Due to a lack of data, the nasal spray should not be used during breastfeeding.

Notes

There is no experience in humans following the use of very high doses of azelastine.However, based on findings from animal experiments, extreme overdose can lead to restlessness, pronounced tiredness or sleepiness, agitation or exhaustion.
