Package leaflet for article FRUCTOSIN Capsules: FRUCTOSiN® contains the active ingredient xylose isomerase, which can help relieve symptoms caused by fructose malabsorption. Fructose malabsorption makes diet difficult because fructose is present in many foods. The capsules help to convert fructose into glucose, which is easier to digest and can lead to a reduction in symptoms. FRUCTOSiN® may be taken before meals containing fructose and contains no histamine, no lactose, no gluten and no artificial flavourings. The effect of xylose isomerase is to create a balanced ratio of fructose and glucose in the body. If the body cannot produce enough of the enzyme, fructose is not absorbed properly and there is an excess of fructose in the intestine. The capsules contain xylose isomerase, which should be active when the fructose reaches the intestine. The capsules can convert 6.2 g of fructose into glucose in the small intestine. It is recommended to take 1-2 capsules of FRUCTOSiN® before a meal containing fructose. The maximum daily intake should not exceed 6 capsules. The capsule should be swallowed whole, but in case of problems it can also be opened and the contents taken unchewed with water. Please FRUCTOSIN note that FRUCTOSiN® is not suitable for people with hereditary fructose intolerance and should only be taken under medical supervision if you have diabetes.
