No prescription is required for this product.
Area of application
As spring begins and plants bloom, many people experience watery, swollen and itchy eyes, which can lead to seasonal conjunctivitis. While these symptoms of hay fever occur seasonally, other allergens such as animal hair or house dust mites can trigger allergic reactions all year round.Eye drops are suitable for treating symptoms such as red, itchy or watery eyes. The Azelastine Micro Labs 0.5 mg/ml eye drops contain the active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride and offer quick and long-lasting relief from allergy-related eye problems. These anti-allergic eye drops are suitable for both the treatment and prevention of hay fever symptoms in the eye (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis) and can be used in adults and children aged 4 years and over.Non-seasonal allergy-related eye problems can be treated with these eye drops in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over.
Mode of action
For allergies that are accompanied by eye problems, eye drops with antihistamines have proven effective. These inhibit inflammatory messengers such as histamine and slow down the allergic reaction. The Azelastine Micro Labs 0.5 mg/ml eye drops contain the active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride, which has anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and decongestant effects. Thanks to their rapid onset of action, the eye drops provide quick and long-lasting relief - for both seasonal and year-round eye allergy symptoms. The anti-allergic drug is considered to be well tolerated and, if used in a timely manner, can improve the quality of life of allergy sufferers.

To use the eye drops: When using the eye drops for the first time, sit in front of a mirror so that you can see what you are doing better. Before use, wash your hands and lightly wipe your eyes with a lint-free cloth to remove moisture.Unscrew the bottle and check that the dropper tip is clean.Gently pull down the lower eyelid and carefully place the drop in the center of the lower eyelid without letting the dropper tip touch the eye.Release your lower eyelid and press lightly against your nose from the inner corner of your eye.Continue to press your finger against your nose while blinking several times to spread the drop over the eyeball. Then remove excess eye drops with a tissue and repeat the process for the other eye.Do not use Azelastine Micro Labs 0.5 mg/ml eye drops for longer than 6 weeks.
Patient information
Take special care when using the medicine if you are not sure whether your eye problems are due to an allergy.Especially if only one eye is affected, if your vision is impaired, or if the eye hurts and you have no nose symptoms, there is a possibility that it is more of an inflammation than an allergy. If the symptoms worsen despite treatment with the medicine or persist for more than 48 hours without noticeable improvement, please contact your doctor or pharmacy.
Before using the eye drops, ask your doctor, pharmacist or optician if you are taking or using other non-prescription medicines or if you wear contact lenses.Your vision may be affected for a short time after using the eye drops. In this case, wait until you can see clearly again before actively driving or operating machines.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant, want to become pregnant or are breastfeeding, please ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice before using this medicine.
