Naratriptan beta for migraine 2.5 mg film-coated tablets are used for the acute treatment of the headache phase of migraine attacks in patients aged between 18 and 65 years. The medicine is a selective serotonin (5-HT1) receptor agonist and reduces the dilation of blood vessels in the head that can cause the symptoms of migraine. Typical symptoms of a migraine are a one-sided, pounding headache, nausea and sensitivity to light and noise. Naratriptan beta for migraine should only be used by patients who know for sure that they have migraine. Adults should take one tablet at the first sign of a migraine attack and further doses can be taken after 4 hours if needed. No more than 2 tablets should be taken within 24 hours. The medicine should be taken unchewed with water. It may cause side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness and fatigue. The medicine is contraindicated in people with certain heart conditions, circulatory disorders and specific forms of migraine.
