Mometasone - 1 A Pharma® For the symptomatic treatment of hay fever

Mometasone - 1 A Pharma® is a powerful nasal spray that is used for hay fever.It relieves the symptoms of pollen-related colds, such as a stuffy or runny nose, itching and sneezing.It also helps with allergic eye problems such as watery, red or itchy eyes, although it is used as a nasal spray.The strong anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effect soothes the nasal mucosa, inhibits irritation of the so-called nasal-ocular reflex in the eye and also works against accompanying symptoms such as pressure headaches or sleep disorders.

No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Mometasone - 1 A Pharma® is used in adolescents and adults aged 18 and over, provided that the initial diagnosis of hay fever has been made by a doctor.It is effective against the symptoms of hay fever and can significantly improve the quality of life of those affected.

Mode of action

The active ingredient mometasone is a nasal glucocorticoid that has been tried and tested in hay fever therapy for years.Compared to antihistamines, mometasone not only has an anti-allergic effect in the early phase of the allergic reaction, but also has an anti-inflammatory effect in the late phase.This makes mometasone particularly effective at clearing the inflammatory stuffy nose and protecting against worsening of the symptoms.

1 Spray of mometasone - 1 A Pharma® contains:

Active ingredient: mometasone furoate (Ph.Eur.).Each measured spray releases 50 micrograms of mometasone furoate (as mometasone-17-(2-furoate) 1 H2O).The total weight of one spray is 100 mg.

Other ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose, carmellose sodium (Ph.Eur.), glycerol, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate (Ph.Eur.), polysorbate 80 [pflanzlich], benzalkonium chloride, water for injections.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, this product should not be used.It should not be used if you have recently had nose surgery or injured your nose.You must not start using the nasal spray until your nose has healed.

Dosage

The recommended dose is 2 sprays into each nostril once daily.Once your symptoms are under control, you can reduce the number of sprays to 1 spray in each nostril once a day.If your symptoms worsen, increase the dose to 2 sprays in each nostril once daily.

Before the first use, shake the bottle well and activate the dosing pump 10 times until an even spray mist is released.If the dosing pump is not operated for more than 14 days, it is necessary to prefill again by pumping twice before the next use until an even spray mist is released.

The medicine must not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Seek medical advice if there is no or insufficient improvement in your symptoms after 14 days at the latest.Mometasone - 1 A Pharma® for hay fever should not be used for longer than 3 months without medical advice.

Intake

How to use the nasal spray:

1. Shake the bottle well and remove the protective cap.

2. Gently blow your nose to clear the nostrils.

3. Close one nostril with your index finger.Tilt your head slightly forward.Hold the pump between your index and middle fingers while supporting the bottle from below with your thumb.Hold the bottle upright and insert the nozzle vertically into the other nostril.It is important that you do not spray the medicine directly onto the nasal septum, which separates the nostrils.

4. Begin to breathe in gently through your nose and as you breathe in, spray a spray of fine mist into your nose by pressing down once with your fingers.

5. Breathe out through your mouth.If necessary, repeat step 4 to administer a 2nd spray into the same nostril.

6. Take the nose piece out of this nostril and breathe out through your mouth.

7. Repeat steps 3 - 6 for the other nostril.

After use, clean the nose piece carefully with a clean tissue and put the protective cap back on.

Warnings and precautions:

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you have or have ever had tuberculosis, any other infection, are taking other corticosteroid medicines, both oral and injection, or have cystic fibrosis.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist while using this product if your immune system is not working well and you come into contact with people who have had measles or chickenpox, you have an infection of the nose or throat, you are using the medicine for several months or longer, or you have persistent irritation of the nose or throat.

If you experience blurred vision or other vision problems, contact your doctor.

When corticosteroid nasal sprays are used in high doses for long periods of time, side effects may occur from the drug absorbed into the body.

If your eyes are itchy or irritated, your doctor may recommend other treatments along with this product.

The medicine must not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

There is no information known about the influence of the drug on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

There is little or no information regarding the use of mometasone furoate in pregnant women.It is not known whether mometasone furoate passes into breast milk.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.

Notes

Mometasone - 1 A Pharma® for hay fever contains 0.02 mg benzalkonium chloride per spray corresponding to 0.2 mg/g.Benzalkonium chloride can cause irritation or swelling of the nasal mucosa, especially with prolonged use.

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.

If you don't feel better or feel worse after 14 days, contact your doctor.
