Bromhexin Hermes Arzneimittel 8 mg/ml drops are a bronchosecretolytic for the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs with thick mucus. The drops are taken for expectorant treatment. It is recommended to take them 3 times a day. Adolescents over 14 years and adults take 23 to 46 drops, while adolescents between 12 and 14 years and patients under 50 kg body weight take 23 drops 3 times a day. The drops are taken with sufficient liquid and the duration of use should be determined by the attending physician. Side effects may include gastrointestinal complaints and allergic reactions. The drops contain 41% alcohol by volume and should therefore be used with caution in certain groups of people. Persons with certain allergies and children under 12 years of age are not recommended to use the drops. The drops have a shelf life of 6 months after opening and should be stored away from moisture.
