Directions for use of the article Bromhexin Hermes Arzneimittel 12 mg/ml drops Bromhexin Hermes Arzneimittel 12 mg/ml Drops are a bronchosecretolytic for the loosening of mucus in respiratory diseases with viscous mucus. They are used for the expectorant treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs. It contains bromhexine hydrochloride as the active substance. Before taking Bromhexin Hermes Arzneimittel 12 mg/ml Drops, certain precautions should be observed. They must not be taken if you are allergic to bromhexine hydrochloride, mint flavouring, levomenthol or other ingredients of the medicine. Special care should be taken if you suffer from rare bronchial diseases associated with excessive secretion accumulation, or if you have impaired kidney function or severe liver disease. In case of long-term treatment, liver function should be monitored regularly. The dosage and directions for use of Bromhexin Hermes Arzneimittel 12 mg/ml drops are age-dependent. Children between 2 and 6 years of age take 8 drops 3 times a day, children between 6 and 14 years of age and patients under 50 kg body weight take 15 drops 3 times a day, and adolescents from 14 years of age and adults take 15-30 drops 3 times a day. The duration of treatment should be determined by the attending physician and is usually not longer than 4-5 days. Side effects such as nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhoea or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. If there are signs of a hypersensitivity reaction, the medicine should not be taken again and medical advice should be sought. In the event of an overdose, symptoms such as vomiting, visual disturbances, impaired consciousness and accelerated breathing may occur. The medicinal product should be kept out of reach of children and protected from frost. It is stable for 6 months after opening. Medicinal products should not be disposed of in waste water.
