Haemoprocan 100 mg film-coated tablets
Haemoprocan 100 mg film-coated tablets are a specially developed medicine for the treatment of iron deficiency in adults.Iron is an essential trace element that plays a central role in the formation of red blood cells and the transport of oxygen in the body.This product is available without a prescription.
Ingredients
Each film-coated tablet contains 100 mg iron, used as dried iron (II) sulfate.The other ingredients are maltodextrin, calcium stearate, lactose monohydrate, copovidone, macrogol 4000, talc, calcium carbonate, cocoa butter, magnesium stearate, shellac, titanium dioxide, cellulose powder, corn starch, carboxymethyl starch sodium, sodium dodecyl sulfate, sucrose, povidone K25, iron oxides and hydroxides.
Area of application
This medicine is used to treat iron deficiency conditions.It offers a convenient dosage form and is a proven standard preparation.It contains lactose and sucrose.
Dosage
The recommended dose is one film-coated tablet twice daily.Adults should take the tablet in the morning and evening with sufficient liquid, one hour before meals.A dose interval from coffee, black or green tea as well as calcium and/or magnesium-rich drinks or supplements should be maintained in order to optimize absorption.
The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease.In principle, iron therapy is required for a period of at least eight weeks in order to achieve therapeutic success.After the blood values have normalized, treatment should be continued for another six to eight weeks to replenish iron reserves.
Intake
The film-coated tablets should be taken whole in the morning on an empty stomach or one hour before meals with sufficient liquid.Swallow the tablet whole with water.Do not suck, chew or keep the tablet in your mouth.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine, especially if you have difficulty swallowing.Due to the risk of mouth ulcers and tooth discoloration, the tablets should not be sucked, chewed, or left in the mouth for prolonged periods.If you cannot follow these instructions or have difficulty swallowing, talk to your doctor.
Particular caution is required when taking it if you suffer from inflammation or ulcers of the gastrointestinal mucosa or also use dietary or other iron salt supplements.This medicine is not suitable for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Treatment with this preparation should only be carried out after careful risk-benefit assessment and consultation with your doctor.
Notes
Contains lactose and sucrose.Please only take Haemoprocan after consulting your doctor if you know that you have an intolerance to certain sugars.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to ferrous sulfate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The medicine should also not be taken if you have anemia caused by infections or cancer, unless there is also an iron deficiency, or if there is an accumulation of iron in the blood and iron utilization disorders.
