Area of application

Desloratadine STADA® is used for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis, such as hay fever, and urticaria (hives) in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over.It relieves symptoms such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy palate and itchy, red or watery eyes, as well as itching and hives of urticaria.The effects last a whole day and help to resume normal everyday activities and improve sleep.

Mode of action

Desloratadine STADA® is an anti-allergic medicine that does not make you drowsy.It helps to control allergic reactions and their symptoms by occupying the histamine receptors and thus preventing the effect of the messenger histamine.

Desloratadine STADA® contains the active ingredient desloratadine.Each film-coated tablet contains 5 mg desloratadine.The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, magnesium stearate (vegetable), hypromellose, hyprolose, titanium dioxide (E171), indigo carmine and aluminum salt.

Contraindications

Desloratadine STADA® should not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients it contains.

Dosage

The recommended dosage for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over is one tablet of Desloratadine STADA® once daily, equivalent to 5 mg of Desloratadine.The tablet should be swallowed whole with water and can be taken without regard to meals.

If you have severe renal insufficiency or a personal or family history of seizures, the drug should be used with caution.The duration of treatment depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms and should be carried out in consultation with the doctor.

Intake

The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily with water, with or without food.The tablet should be swallowed whole.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Desloratadine STADA® if you have impaired kidney function or if you have a medical history or a family history of seizures.The medicine should not be given to children under 12 years of age.

If you take the recommended dosage, this medicine is not expected to affect your ability to drive or use machines.However, it is recommended that you avoid activities that require mental alertness until your personal response to the medicine has been established.

Pregnancy

Taking Desloratadine STADA® is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Desloratadine STADA® 5 mg film-coated tablets are available without a prescription and are suitable for use in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over.If you don't feel better or feel worse after 10 days, contact your doctor.
