Desloratadine STADA 5mg for allergy symptoms contains the active ingredient desloratadine.Each film-coated tablet contains 5 mg desloratadine.The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.) [pflanzlich], hypromellose, hyprolose, titanium dioxide (E171), indigo carmine and aluminum salt.

Area of application

Desloratadine STADA 5mg is used for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever) and urticaria (hives of unknown cause) in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over.It improves symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy palate, and itchy, red, or watery eyes.It is also used to improve the symptoms of urticaria, such as itching and hives.Improvement in these symptoms lasts a full day and helps you resume your normal daily activities and regain your sleep.

Dosage

The recommended dosage is one Desloratadine STADA® tablet once daily (corresponding to 5 mg Desloratadine).Swallow the tablet whole (unchewed) with water.The tablet can be taken without regard to meals.The duration of treatment depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms.If your allergic rhinitis is intermittent, your doctor will recommend a treatment regimen depending on the assessment of your previous course of the disease.If your allergic rhinitis is persistent, your doctor may recommend longer-term treatment.For urticaria, the duration of treatment may vary from patient to patient.That's why you should follow your doctor's instructions.

Intake

The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily with water, with or without food.This medicine is to be taken orally.Swallow the tablet whole.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking this medicine if you have impaired kidney function or if you have a medical history or a family history of seizures.Do not give this medicine to children under 12 years of age.

If you take the recommended dosage, this medicine is not expected to affect your ability to drive or use machines.Although most people do not experience drowsiness, it is recommended that you avoid activities that require mental alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, until your personal response to the medicine has been established.

Pregnancy

The use of desloratadine STADA is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Contraindications

Desloratadine STADA 5mg for allergy symptoms should not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients it contains.
