Loperamid AbZ akut 2 mg Hartkapseln are a medicine for the treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over, if no other targeted therapy is available. The hard capsules contain the active substance loperamide hydrochloride. They are taken unchewed with liquid. The recommended dose is 2 hard capsules at the beginning of treatment, followed by 1 capsule after each unformed stool. The maximum daily dose is 6 hard capsules. The duration of treatment should not exceed 2 days. If diarrhoea persists, the medicine should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. Loperamid AbZ akut is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Its use may cause side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, dry mouth, headache and tiredness.
