Suprasorb A Pro is a reinforced calcium alginate dressing that contains cellulose fibers in addition to calcium alginate fibers.These cellulose fibers have a reinforcing and stabilizing effect, which increases the performance of the product.When wound exudate is absorbed, sodium ions are exchanged with calcium ions, forming a gel.Bacteria and cell debris are trapped in this gel and a moist wound environment is maintained.

Areas of application

This dressing is suitable for treating acute and chronic wounds that are heavily exuding, superficial or deep.

Indications

The dressing can be used on arterial ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, postoperative wounds as well as on split-thickness skin harvesting and donor sites.

Suprasorb A Pro is particularly effective in the exudation phase and the granulation phase.

Properties

The bandage is characterized by high absorption and retention capacity.It protects the wound edge and supports wound healing through autolytic debridement.It also binds bacteria and cell debris in the gel, can be removed in one piece and has a hemostatic effect.

Notes

The dressing change interval depends on the degree of exudation and can be up to 7 days.Before use, the dressing can be cut to the size of the wound.Depending on the degree of exudation, it can be fixed with a suitable secondary dressing, such as Suprasorb P sensitive.The bandage can also be used under compression.
