Imodium acute duo contains the active ingredients 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride and simeticon equivalent to 125 mg dimeticon.The excipients include calcium hydrogen phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A) (Ph. Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended use of Imodium acute Duo: Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or exactly as discussed with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:

Adolescents aged 12 and over: First dose: 1 tablet, repeat dose: 1 tablet, maximum daily dose: 4 tablets.

Adults: First dose: 2 tablets, repeat dose: 1 tablet, maximum daily dose: 4 tablets.

The first dose is taken at the beginning of the treatment of acute diarrhea.Thereafter, the repeat dose should be taken after each unformed stool.The recommended maximum daily dose must not be exceeded.

Do not take IMODIUM® akut Duo for longer than 2 days without medical advice.Children under 12 years of age must not take IMODIUM® akut Duo.

Intake

Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if your symptoms persist or worsen.Severe diarrhea can lead to large losses of fluid, sugar and salt.You need to make up for fluid loss by drinking more fluids than usual.Please ask your pharmacist about electrolyte solutions that can compensate for your sugar and salt losses.

This medicine only treats the symptoms of diarrhea.It is possible that in some cases the cause of your diarrhea may require treatment.

Do not take this medicine for any purpose other than its intended use and never take more than the recommended amount.Serious heart problems (including a fast or irregular heartbeat) have been observed in patients who have taken too much loperamide hydrochloride, the active ingredient in this medicine.

Usually the symptoms of acute diarrhea disappear within 2 days.If symptoms persist for a long time, stop taking this product and consult a doctor.

Children under 12 years of age must not take this medicine.

This medicine may cause dizziness, tiredness and sleepiness.If this occurs to you, do not drive or use machines.

Pregnancy
